Stevens’s “So-and-So Reclining on Her Couch” (with Hilton Als)
We have now added a new Wallace Stevens poem to the ModPoPLUS week 3 syllabus. It’s “So-and-So Reclining on Her Couch.” We have the text. We have a recording of Stevens’s reading the poem (from PennSound). And we have a new 6-minute video clip from a conversation Al Filreis moderated with art critic, memoirist, New Yorker staff writer Hilton Als. In this clip, Al and Hilton talk about the idea of the muse, and the possible intersubjectivity of artist and mode/muse/inspiration. Here is the video, and see below for all of the Stevens materials in ModPoPLUS week 3 currently, with the new items at the bottom of the list.
