Update during our final weekend of ModPo 2018
ModPo 2018 ends on Monday with our annual Final Words webcast, as I’ve noted previously. But really what’s ending is what we call our “symposium mode,” our annual run through the ten weeks of the course together. ModPo, however, is open all year.
Yes, the ModPo site is available to you always. Come back any time. Finish reading poems and watching videos. If you’ve been through the main syllabus once or twice or thrice, it’s time to turn to the vast (and ever expending) ModPoPLUS syllabus. Or to the Teacher Resource Center. Or to our CCCR (Community Collaborative Close Readings) page.
And after Monday we will move into what we call our “SloPo” season. Look for announcements about special discussion groups coming up through the winter and spring (December through May). I myself will be leading a month-long discussion group on the poetry of Mei-mei Berssenbrugge. Look out for that announcment!
The ModPo team will be in San Francisco for a meet-up at 6:30 PM local time on Thursday, January 17th (place to be announced). And we will be in Los Angeles for a meet-up at 6:30 PM on Friday, January 18th (place TBA, probably at UCLA). There will be other meet-ups throughout the year. And we will also, at irregular intervals, host live webcasts from the Kelly Writers House.
So we hope you will stay with ModPo, here and there, whenever you can, throughout the year.
