They took the name “Alumverse,” since almost all of them were alumni of Penn It wasn’t my first experience teaching online, but it was my initial hint of what open non-credit online learning could be. I can draw a line from Alumverse through my “PennAdvance” courses on modern poetry in 1999 and 2000 through to ModPo which launched in 2012.
