ModPo in Seattle
Nicholas “Denny” Stern, great ModPo guy (Community TA), in Seattle last night after our ModPo meet-up there (at Town Hall Seattle). We talked about Rae Armantrout‘s new poem “Care” and also Lorine Niedecker’s “My Life by Water.” We filmed both collaborative close readings & these will be added to ModPoPLUS week 2. I was so busy leading the discussion that I forget to take photos of the group. They included Dianne Knox, Ruth Flanders, Peter Riley (who came from England), Michelle Foshee, Terry Talty (who came from Denver), Ken Taylor (editor/poet) & others. Plus we were joined by Rae Armantrout and Bob Perelman, two ModPo poets themselves, and Davy Knittle, beloved ModPo TA & all-round brilliant personage. Soon we will be driving to Vancouver—for more filming of new videos to add to the course and a meet-up at which Denny and Terry will also be attending!
