ModPo team travels to Montreal – join us!
Many ModPo people know that each year the ModPo team travels to a city where we can meet in person with ModPo participants and also with local poets who convene with us in the making of new videos about new poems to be added to the ever-expanding ModPo syllabus.
This year we are traveling to Montreal!
If you live in or near Montreal, or might like to travel there to see us, please read the rest of this message and take some notes on our plans. And plan to join us!
WEBCAST: On Thursday, September 26, we will gather at McGill University to host that week’s live webcast. We want you to be in the in-person audience and to be part of the discussion. Here are the details: the webcast, which will begin at 6:30 PM, will taken place in the Morrice Hall Theater, 3485 McTavish Street, Montreal Quebec H3A 0E1). After the webcast we will go off to a pub to celebrate and socialize in the best ModPo style (i.e., talking about poetry!).
POETRY DISCUSSIONS AROUND THE CITY: Throughout our time in Montreal, we will journey to special locations, meeting up with poets and recording new ModPo videos. You might like to meet us at such locations and be part of a live audience as we record these collaborative close readings.
We will actively be around the city from Thursday morning (September 26) through Saturday late afternoon (September 28).
If you know you’d like to join us, please write to Sophia DuRose and describe your plans. Certainly be part of the interactive webcast at McGill on Thursday evening! Contact Sophia here: sdurose@writing.upenn.edu .
