Announcement: ModPo is coming to Manchester, UK
In early October, the ModPo team will be traveling to Manchester, UK. As usual, we will be filming discussions with poets about various poems—in this case, Manchester and Manchester-affiliated poets and poems. The poems discussed in the videos, and the videos themselves of course, will be added to the ModPoPLUS collection. We will also record an episode of PoemTalk.
Three of our gatherings/events will be open to all visitors/friends/ModPo’ers. All these events will take place at the Manchester Poetry Library (in the Grosvenor Building, Cavendish Street, Manchester M15 6BG). The events:
[] Thursday, October 1, 6:30 PM local time: ModPo’s weekly live webcast
[] Friday, October 2, 3-5 PM local time: filming of two collaborative close readings of poems
[] Saturday, 11 AM-1 PM local time: recording of an episode of PoemTalk about several poems by Harriet Tarlo
We will make more detailed information available later. Meantime, we only want you to know we’ll be visiting Manchester, and want to urge ModPo people everywhere, but especially in or near Manchester, to plan to join us. It’s just early May—this announcement is meant to give you lots of time to plan your trip to see us.
If you know you will definitely, or will probably, join us, please contact Sophia DuRose at sdurose@writing.upenn.edu . This is just a preliminary RSVP—not fixed in stone—but will give us an idea of who’s coming to hang out with us!
