Info about our week 2 webcast
Tomorrow (Wednesday, September 18) we will convene our second webcast of the ModPo season.
You really should try to make plans to watch (and participate in) our second weekly webcast of 2019. We start at exactly NOON Philadelphia time.
You can watch the live stream HERE.
As usual, we don’t want you just to watch us. We hope you will participate.
Here are your options for participating:
1) CALL US. Yes, you can call us on the telephone! The number is 610-616-3208. Please do call us! If you are the second caller, you will “win” a poetry book, which we’ll mail to you after the webcast.
2) POST A COMMENT OR QUESTION TO THE SPECIAL 9/18/19 WEBCAST DISCUSSION THREAD. Click HERE to view the thread for the week 2 webcast. Add your comments or questions. We will read them all. We will try to respond to some of them during the live session.
3) TWITTER. Many ModPo webcast fans like to interact with others using Twitter. Use the hashtag #ModPoLive. If you think of it, please include ModPo’s twitter handle: @modpopenn . At least one of the TAs will be watching twitter and we can best respond to you that way.
If you are in or near Philadelphia, please come to the Writers House at 3805 Locust Walk on Penn’s campus. You are welcome tomorrow to join us in person; you are always welcome to visit us there.
During the webcast we’ll mostly be talking about ModPo’s week 2 poems—Dickinsonians and Whitmanians. As I mentioned already, poet Kate Colby—whose poems appear as part of the ModPoPLUS syllabus for week 2—will be joining us. Kate will be here at KWH all day: for the webcast; for a PoemTalk episode about Hannah Weiner; for a reading of her own poetry she will give at 6 PM (it will be live-streamed HERE).
We will of course make available a recording of the webcast, and will send out a link to it soon after the session. The webcast schedule for ModPo 2019 (and other info) can be found HERE.
We all look forward to your participation in our week 2 webcast!
