ModPo update for Monday of week 4 (September 30th, 2019)
Week 4 is truly underway! Lots of good conversation about Gertrude Stein is happening in our forum. Even if you’ve been shy about entering our discussion forum, maybe now is the time to check it out. Click HERE and take a look. Find a thread with a title that interests you, click on it, and see what people are saying.
There are six new threads just about Stein’s “A Long Dress.” Such a seemingly difficult poem! — and yet when ModPo people start collaborating, the writing begins to make sense, in the Steinian way of course.
Our office hours are busy, and fun! Join us. Below you will find a list and links to TA office hours for Tuesday and Wednesday. Your favorite TA awaits your comments and questions—or just your saying hello.
People are already posting some essays on the Williams poem (in response to essay assignment #2). We hope you’ll decide to write an essay on this poem too. If you post an essay this week, then next week (week 5) you will receive at least four comments on it. I know for some folks this is a little scary, but I urge you to try it. Take what you perhaps learned from our close readings in the video and see what you can do with a poem on your own.
Our webcast on Wednesday this week will begin at 8 PM.
Wes Freeman has discovered the amazing Baroness Elsa von Freytag Loringhoven! Join his celebration HERE.
Feeling that the difference is spreading,
